The Outlaw Homestead

This house was built in the late 1890s or early 1900s and stood on the farm owned by my Great Uncle Fetus and Great Aunt Jane Powell. They built a new brick home around 1958 beside this one and used the older house for storage until it got to dangerous to use in the 1960s. It was torn down around 1965. Some places on the Internet describe it as the original Outlaw Homestead near Outlaw's bridge. I find this hard to believe because the Outlaws settled the area long before it was built and is was at least 10 miles down the road from Outlaw's Bridge Community.  Back in the 1700s that was quite a distance on the old dirt trails in the area.
